Telemenia awarded EUR 30M contract to build a 25MW power plant in Burkina Faso

After winning an International tender, Telemenia was awarded a 30 million EUR contract for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of 25MW power plant, for Société Nationale d’électricité du Burkina Faso (SONABEL) in Burkina Faso.

SONABEL is a state-owned company, set up in 1995, to establish and operate the public service in generation, transmission & distribution of electricity in Burkina Faso, and  represents Burkina Faso in the West African Power Pool. The project is an extension of the existing Bobo II power plant. The new power plant will be equipped with MAN 2x12V48/60 Gensets and new distribution system. The extension plant will be built in a new power house adjacent to the existing BOBO II plant and shall include the latest control and operation systems.  The station will employ a team of 200 workers who will plan the new power station and will supervise its construction, and will provide nearly 150 jobs opportunities to local residents.  the project is expected to be completed in  18 months.
