The logistics supervision has been performed by Pinnacle Freight Systems and Telemenia Faso, a subsidiary of Telemenia Ltd, while the actual operation was managed by Farnholts Industry Services.
The door- to – door operation lasted over a period of 60 days , transporting each Generator at the time, in 4 separate convoys that lasted 10-12 days each.
The Heavy Lifts required massive civil works to support the roads and bridges infrastructure along the way.
About the project:
After winning international tender of SONABEL(Société Nationale d’électricité du Burkina Faso) for the supply and construction of a 25MW power plant as an extension of the BOBO power plant in Bobo-Dioulasso (the” Bobo II” project), Telemenia won a new tender for the further expansion of the Bobo power Plant in 2013 (the Bobo III project).
BOBO III project is currently being constructed and consists of 2*12.5MW MAN engines, bringing the total capacity of the Bobo plant up to 70MW. As part of the extension, Telemenia will upgrade the existing control system at the Bobo plant and integrate it with the state-of-the-art control system to be installed by Telemenia for the new Plant. This project is expected to be handed over to Sonabel In early 2015.
